Rick Hatcher came to the Ohio Veterans’ Home Agency located in Sandusky, Ohio in August 2005. Mr. Hatcher’s responsibilities as Assistant Superintendent include oversight of the Agency’s Fiscal, Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology, Facilities Management and other key administrative functions. He assumed the role of Acting Superintendent in April 2007.

Mr. Hatcher, a graduate of Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Management and Human Resources Management, as well as a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in leadership. He also holds the professional designation as a Senior Professional of Human Resources through the Society for Human Resources Management.

Mr. Hatcher has over 21 years in the Ohio Air National Guard. He currently holds the position of the Command Chief Master Sergeant at the 121st Air Refueling Wing, Rickenbacker IAP in Columbus, where he serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Wing’s Commanding General on issues affecting over 1400 enlisted members.

Mr. Hatcher has served overseas with his unit in support of the Global War on Terrorism and numerous other overseas deployments. His military decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (1 device), Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal (1 device), Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal (6 devices), National Defense Medal (1 device), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon (1 device), Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border and others. Mr. Hatcher was named MilVets Air National Guard Service Person of the Year in 2004.

Prior to his employment with the Ohio Veterans’ Home Agency, Mr. Hatcher was the Assistant Director of the Human Resources and Fiscal Services Department for the State Treasurer’s Office from 1999 to 2005. He served as Co-Chair for 2003 contract negotiations between the Treasurer’s Office and Ohio Civil Service Employees Association.

From 1990 to 1999, Mr. Hatcher was a training officer in Risk Management and Insurance and a manager in Human Resources at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
